Shaanxi Brilliant Upgrades Foundry for Stainless Steel Investment Casting Surge

2025-06-10
As global demand surges for corrosion-resistant and complex stainless steel components, Shaanxi Brilliant Machinery Co., Ltd. has completed a major upgrade of our investment casting facility, specifically tailored to meet the increased production of 316L, CF8M, and duplex stainless steel parts.

The upgrade is in response to a 30% year-on-year rise in stainless steel casting orders from the Marine, chemical processing, and pump component sectors. These industries demand cast parts that combine complex geometry with excellent corrosion resistance, and investment casting remains the most economical method for such precision manufacturing.

Modernized Shell-Building Line

Our foundry now features a fully automated ceramic shell-building line with robotic dipping arms and humidity-controlled drying rooms. These upgrades allow us to produce more uniform shells, minimize cracking during dewaxing, and improve surface finish. The new slurry tanks are equipped with automated mixing and viscosity monitoring to ensure consistency in each coating layer.

This enhancement has improved shell strength by 18%, reduced ceramic inclusion defects, and increased throughput by 25%. We can now handle up to 10,000 wax assemblies per month.

Improved Casting Yields and Flexibility

We’ve also added high-capacity induction melting furnaces and upgraded our dewaxing autoclaves. These units allow precise control of melting temperatures (up to 1,650°C) and reduce wax burn residue, which directly improves the quality of castings. Additionally, a new robotic shell knockout station reduces labor fatigue and improves shell removal consistency.

With these changes, our foundry now efficiently produces pump casings, impellers, valve bodies, and structural brackets with tight dimensional tolerances and superior surface integrity.

Inspection and Certification

Each casting undergoes non-destructive testing (NDT), including dye penetrant and radiographic inspection as needed. All heats are analyzed using optical emission spectrometry (OES), and PMI (Positive Material Identification) is available for duplex and special alloys. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 procedures govern our foundry operations, ensuring full documentation and lot traceability.

Global Shipment Ready

Our stainless castings are exported globally, meeting ASTM A351, DIN, and ISO standards. We also offer optional value-added services such as CNC machining, pickling and passivation, hydrostatic pressure testing, and mechanical property testing.

Our engineers collaborate closely with customers to optimize casting geometry for better metal flow and minimal shrinkage, offering tooling redesign support when needed.

This foundry upgrade empowers Shaanxi Brilliant to better serve industries where reliability, corrosion resistance, and surface quality are critical.
